Several people are involved in a lawsuit against Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, claiming they were exposed for several years to a variety of highly toxic chemicals, compounds and substances that caused Sick Building Syndrome.

The class-action lawsuit, Erna Martin, Charles Martin, Deborah Courtney, George Courtney, et al v. Wishard Memorial Hospital, Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion county, et al, was filed Jan. 21 in Marion Circuit Court by plaintiff's counsel, Kenneth B. Moll of Chicago.

The suit claims that the defendants failed to maintain the HVAC systems that caused improper ventilation in the Krannert Institute of Cardiology, resulting in high concentrations of contaminants from indoor sources as a result of reduced supply of outdoor air.

Plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages for all people, their spouses and the estates of all deceased people in the United States who were present on the premises.
