The attorney for a Chicago Ridge man, who is suing Sara Lee Corp. after he became ill from eating the food company's hot dogs last year, accused the company of interfering with the lawsuit when it took out a full-page ad in dozens of newspapers earlier this week.
Sara Lee's advertisement in nearly 60 newspapers nationwide Wednesday reminded people about its meat recall and instructed them to either discard the meat products or return them to grocery stores for a full refund.
Kenneth Moll, who filed the negligence lawsuit on behalf of Frank Paluch on Dec. 30, said Thursday that Sara Lee's advice to consumers to discard the meat interferes with the case. Moll is seeking class action status for the lawsuit because he claims there are other victims of food contamination.
According to the lawsuit, Paluch became ill on Dec. 23 and was sick for seven days after eating Sara Lee's Ball Park Franks.
